When promoting your beauty business, relying solely on social media isn’t enough. What if Instagram, Facebook or TikTok suddenly disappeared tomorrow - how would you continue attracting clients? The truth is, you need multiple ways of marketing your business to attract your ideal clients.
Here are my top five strategies to help your business stay visible, busy and booked:
Google handles over 8.5 billion searches daily. A free Google Business Profile lets you list the treatments you offer, showcase client reviews, and link to your website or booking page. For example, when someone searches “Facials in Manchester,” Google Business Profile can help put you front and center - exactly where you need to be. If you already have a Google Business Profile, when was the last time you updated it? Keeping it up-to-date is just as important!
At my skin clinic, email was our second most powerful way of generating bookings and retail sales. With a mailing list of over 600 clients, we often did targeted email campaigns, for example when we had a new treatment or product to showcase or had spaces to fill in the diary, and it was a game changer for us! Just be sure to collect e-mail addresses in compliance with GDPR.
Word-of-mouth is golden. When clients refer friends, they’re much more likely to book in with you. Offer a reward - like 15% off their next treatment or a £10 voucher and give the same to their friend. It’s a win–win for everyone!
Host an educational workshop, open evening, or special event that highlights your signature treatments, impressive results, and client experience. For example, teach expert tips like “how to layer your skincare like a pro”. These events let you demonstrate your knowledge and skills. Consider offering a limited-time event-only discount to boost your income.
Clients value convenience. Skip the back-and-forth messages and use a system like Timely. Timely let’s clients book instantly, view all your services and pricing, and saves you hours in admin, from taking deposits to sending automatic appointment reminders, Timely will help you get time back in your day, so you can focus on delivering amazing treatments to your clients.
Marketing doesn’t have to be complicated, you don’t have to have a 50 step marketing strategy, just choose 5-7 things that you can do consistently in your business and before you know it, you’ll be on your way to being booked and busy in your beauty business!
